A Laser Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining an Amada laser cutting machine to ensure efficient and high-quality production. This role involves selecting cutting programs, adjusting machine settings, loading materials, performing quality checks, and conducting routine maintenance. The operator must work within a manufacturing environment, adhere to strict safety protocols, and ensure the machine operates at optimal performance.

  • 1st Shift 5:00am - 1:30p
  • Schedule - Mon - Sat
  • Pay: $20 - $23

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Machine Operation:

  • Set up and operate the Amada laser cutting machine according to specifications.
    • Set the appropriate parameters such as speed, feed rate, temperature, pressure, or laser power based on material and job requirements.
    • Position the fixtures, clamps, or work-holding devices to secure the material.
    • Input job-specific programs or commands into the machine's control panel (e.g., CNC programming for laser cutters or punch presses).
    • Verify the program to ensure accuracy before running.
  • In production Amada Machines FOM2_3015 NET, CO2 LASER, ENSIS3015, FIBER LASER
  • Select and load appropriate cutting programs and materials for each job.
  • Monitor the cutting process to ensure precision and efficiency.

Material Handling:

  • Load and unload materials such as metal sheets or plates onto the machine.
  • Inspect raw materials to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Organize and stage materials for efficient workflow.
  • Help stage parts ready for production in priority on carts or pallets.

Quality Assurance:

  • Perform initial and in-process quality checks to ensure cuts meet the required specifications.
  • Inspect finished parts for accuracy, smooth edges, and conformance to design requirements.
  • Report any defects or issues to the supervisor promptly.
  • Make sure the material is stacked correctly and handled carefully.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

  • Conduct routine maintenance, including following daily cleaning check list mandatory
  • Lenses, filters, and other machine components, floors, tools
  • Diagnoses and troubleshoot machine issues to minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate with maintenance staff for repairs or advanced service needs.
  • Do not enter or go into the Laser at anytime

Safety Compliance:

  • Follow all safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to prevent accidents.
  • Identify and report potential hazards in the workspace.

Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of production, including material usage and completed work orders.
  • Document maintenance activities and machine performance logs.
  • Track daily production output to plan output requirements
  • Assist in inventory management by tracking material levels.

Qualifications:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to carry out their essential duty
