Job Type: Full-Time

Job Overview:

We are seeking a moderately experienced Lathe Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in lathe operation, with proficiency in basic G&M Code programming to make adjustments, manipulate programs, and set offsets. This position requires the ability to independently set up and operate lathes, read blueprints, and accurately measure/inspect finished parts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate CNC and manual lathes to produce high-quality parts.
  • Adjust and manipulate existing programs using G&M Codes (proficiency in Mastercam not required).
  • Make offsets and adjustments to ensure correct part specifications.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on lathe equipment.
  • Inspect finished parts using personal measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, etc.) to ensure they meet blueprint specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and quality standards.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience operating lathes in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of G&M Code programming and the ability to make program adjustments.
  • Ability to set up and operate CNC and manual lathes.
  • Proficient in blueprint reading and using measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.).
  • Must own personal measuring equipment and a toolbox.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and management.

Preferred Skills (Not Required):

  • Experience with Mastercam or similar CAD/CAM software.
  • Familiarity with other CNC machine operations.
