Lead Corporate Accountant
The Lead Corporate Accountant will serve as a key contributor within the Corporate Accounting organization, supporting the integrity, scalability, and efficiency of the Company’s accounting and financial reporting processes in a rapidly growing public company environment. This role will lead complex accounting areas, support period-end close and internal reporting activities, partner cross-functionally across the organization, and help drive process improvement and transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate combines strong technical and operational accounting capability with leadership mindset, analytical thinking, business partnership, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
What You’ll Do
Lead key accounting areas supporting the period close process, including preparation and review of journal entries, reconciliations, flux analysis, reporting schedules, and supporting documentation.
Serve as a lead contributor within the Corporate Accounting organization, helping ensure accounting processes, controls, and reporting activities operate accurately, efficiently, and in a scalable manner.
Partner closely with FP&A and business stakeholders to support internal financial reporting, variance analysis, operational insights, and understanding of financial results.
Provide leadership, guidance, and subject matter expertise to accounting team members and cross-functional business partners regarding accounting treatment, operational processes, and financial reporting impacts.
Identify, evaluate, and implement process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency, strengthen controls, reduce manual effort, and support the continued evolution of the Accounting organization.
Support Finance Transformation and systems/process improvement initiatives through active participation in redesign efforts, operational optimization, and scalability-focused improvements.
Manage and support internal controls and SOX compliance activities across assigned accounting areas to ensure strong financial rigor and compliance with Company policies and regulatory requirements.
Support internal and external audit activities, including preparation of accounting analyses, reconciliations, support schedules, and responses to audit requests.
Experience supporting SEC reporting processes, public company reporting requirements, and/or technical accounting matters preferred, with the ability to provide additional bandwidth and cross-functional support across broader Accounting and financial reporting activities as business needs evolve.
Operate as a trusted business partner across Accounting, FP&A, Technology, Operations, Development, and other cross-functional teams to support organizational effectiveness and evolving business needs.
Serve as a mentor and resource to other Accounting team members while helping elevate organizational capability, analytical thinking, and continuous improvement across the team.
The Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA preferred
7+ years of progressive accounting experience with a combination of public accounting and/or public company experience preferred
Strong understanding of US GAAP, financial reporting processes, internal controls, and operational accounting activities within a complex or growing organization
Demonstrated ability to lead complex accounting areas, manage competing priorities, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to balance accuracy, efficiency, scalability, and business partnership
Strong systems and Excel skills with the ability to leverage technology and process improvement to drive operational effectiveness
Experience supporting process improvement, transformation, or organizational scalability initiatives preferred
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate financial and operational matters clearly across varying audiences
Ability to build strong cross-functional relationships and influence outcomes across teams
Demonstrated leadership mindset with the ability to mentor, coach, and support development of other team members
Strong sense of ownership, urgency, accountability, and continuous improvement
Physical Requirements
Ability to maintain stationary position to be able to operate a computer and other office equipment
Must be able to identify, analyze and assess details
For certain positions, must be able to occasionally move or transport items up to 50 pounds
Ability to communicate with others and exchange information accurately and effectively
Constantly positions self and move about to support ordinary restaurant or food production support or office operations, as applicable
Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
