Lead File Clerk This position is located in the Health Information Management Section (HIMS) of the Business Office at Butler VA Medical Center (VAMC). The HIMS Scanning Unit has transitioned from maintaining paper health records to electronic health records by implementing templates in the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) or scanning & indexing documentation. Oversees the daily functions of the file room including to maintain accessible records and provide efficient service for patient care. Major Duties Include: Leads team of 3 GS-04 File Clerks. Monitors and assists with completion of daily workflow, day-to-day adjustments. Assists with implementation of approved procedures. Provides direction to staff. Serves as the medical Center Subject Matter Expert on Scanning. Provides guidance to services within the medical center on implementing image capture to include: Developing processes and procedures for specific images to be captured. Assisting services in requesting scanned forms. Providing training to the individuals who will be capturing images. Providing training to individuals who monitor individuals who capture images. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday; 7:00 am - 3:30pm. Compressed/Flexible: Not Authorized. Telework: Ad-Hoc Eligible. Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
