Position Overview
Lead Graphic Artist at HII Mission Technologies in Huntsville, AL. Provides multimedia, graphic design, and web development support across the project office and coordinates visual communications with staff and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure timely creation and delivery of visual materials including awards, birthday cards, retirement/farewell frames, event graphics, and SharePoint page designs.
Coordinate with project teams and operations personnel on daily tasks such as professional event photography, SharePoint layout, and updating employee profiles.
Provide guidance to managers on visual layout, branding updates, and SharePoint functionality.
Manage daily operations of the print lab, operating specialized printers and plotters for facility seating charts, calendars, and banners.
Troubleshoot and coordinate with IT help desks and vendors to maintain print equipment and software drivers.
Conceive, design, lay out, and coordinate editorial illustrations and creative artwork.
Develop interpretive themes to convey ideas and information.
Create graphic presentations that communicate mood, emphasis, insight, and viewpoint.
Provide guidance on graphic technology and work closely with customer contacts to understand requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
6 years relevant experience with a Bachelor’s in a related field; or 4 years with a Master’s; or High School Diploma and 10 years relevant experience.
Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related art and design fields.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret-level security clearance with the U.S. DoW.
Hands‑on experience in digital photography, print production, file management, and basic database administration.
Advanced skills in SharePoint site design, graphic layout, and Microsoft Office products (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, OneNote, Teams, Forms).
Preferred Requirements
9 years relevant experience with a Bachelor’s; or 7 years with a Master’s; or High School Diploma and 13 years relevant experience.
Secret clearance with the U.S. DoW.
Experience working with Fed Government, DoW customers or contractors.
