Overview Job Summary: We are seeking a Lead Java Engineer to collaborate across engineering disciplines including design, architecture, configuration, and qualification. The ideal candidate will be a Java Subject Matter Expert with strong technical depth, hands-on problem-solving skills, and experience building scalable, high-performance systems in the Financial Services domain. Job Details Job Title: Lead Java Engineer Location: NY / NJ / CT Job Type: Contract Responsibilities Act as a technical lead and Java SME across engineering teams Design and implement scalable APIs using Core Java and Spring Boot Drive architecture decisions focusing on scalability, performance, and reliability Build and enhance event-driven applications using pub-sub communication models Lead legacy application modernization and enhancements Apply best practices in microservices, DDD, observability, and security Perform performance tuning, troubleshooting, and optimization Ensure robust API design including retries, exception handling, and fault tolerance Technical Skills Required Expert in Core Java (multithreading, streams, transaction management) Strong experience with Spring Boot and RESTful API development Microservices architecture and Domain Driven Design (DDD) Event-driven architecture, messaging, and pub-sub systems Performance tuning, testing, and observability Strong understanding of security principles and API reliability patterns Architecture & Design Expertise API design from high-level requirements to implementation High availability, low latency, and disaster recovery design Knowledge of monolithic, microservices, and serverless architectures Experience handling retries, failures, and inter-service communication #J-18808-Ljbffr
