Schedule
Office is open seven days a week, 365 days a year. This role consists of a 40‑hour work week, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to close (approximately 11:30 p.m.). Shift may be from 1:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. or 2:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. The schedule will be determined by the supervisor upon hire, with rotating holidays and weekends possible.

Primary Responsibilities
Specimen Processing: Receive, verify patient identification, sort, prepare, and distribute blood, urine, and other biological specimens according to protocol.
Operate laboratory equipment such as centrifuges and copiers, and use the organization’s EHR and LIS computer systems.
Document lab incidents, fill out reference lab forms, resolve specimen issues, and report findings.
Maintain equipment: record temperatures, defrost freezers, and clean laboratory equipment as per maintenance schedules.
Participate in Quality Improvement and Lean Process Improvement activities.
Lead the Processing department in the supervisor’s absence—monitor workflow, adjust staffing, prioritize tasks, and support team members.
Promote a positive work environment and demonstrate the company’s core values.
Apply Lean principles to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and increase customer satisfaction.
Complete all compliance training and adhere to HIPAA, OSH, OSHA, L&I, and other regulations.
Attend required training and maintain attendance regularly and predictably.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
One or more years of computer proficiency and experience
One or more years of clinical laboratory experience, including specimen processing
One or more years of leadership experience (mentoring, workflow monitoring, staffing adjustments)
Experience in professional phone communication with patients and healthcare providers
Ability to work a 40‑hour flexible work week, including 1:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. or 2:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. hours
Preferred Qualifications
Current BLS certification or ability to obtain within first 30 days of employment
Knowledge of laboratory equipment operation (centrifuges, copiers)
Knowledge of laboratory information systems (LIS) for data entry and specimen tracking
Understanding of regulatory requirements, including OSHA, CLIA, and CAP standards
Technical skills for fast‑paced biological sample processing
Strong attention to detail and commitment to high‑quality standards
Flexibility to cover team members on leave and adjust working hours
Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
Soft Skills
Organizational skills to ensure accurate processing and multitasking with a calm demeanor

Pay & Employment Details
The hourly pay for this role ranges from $16.00 to $29.00 per hour based on full‑time employment. The company complies with all applicable minimum wage laws.
