Overview
A leading plastics manufacturer is seeking an experienced Lead Process Technician to support injection molding operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong process optimization skills, advanced troubleshooting abilities, and a proven record of sustaining world-class manufacturing performance in a high-volume production setting.
This role plays a key part in driving efficiency, quality, and consistency across molding operations while mentoring team members and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Set up, start up, and optimize injection molding machines, tooling, and auxiliary equipment

Monitor and adjust process parameters to maintain target OEE, scrap, and quality metrics

Perform mold, color, and resin changeovers utilizing SMED principles ( 50-minute changeover goal)

Program and troubleshoot robotic systems (side-entry robots, EOATs, and automation cells)

Conduct DOE trials, analyze results, and implement sustainable process improvements

Maintain accurate production and process documentation within the MES system (Vorne)

Ensure full compliance with NSF, customer-specific, and internal safety and quality standards

Mentor and train junior technicians on best practices and scientific molding techniques

Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, maintenance, and quality teams to resolve issues efficiently
Required:
-
Minimum 5 years of hands-on injection molding experience in a production environment

Strong technical background in scientific molding principles and process optimization
-
RJG Master Molder I certification or equivalent experience is highly preferred
-
Proficiency in robot programming, troubleshooting, and integration

Ability to interpret blueprints, GD&T, and SPC data for process control
Preferred:
-
Associate degree in Plastics Engineering Technology or related technical field

Familiarity with ERP/MES systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Ability to stand and walk for 8+ hours per shift

Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally

Work in proximity to moving machinery and production equipment

Must wear full PPE, including safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, and hearing protection
