Lead Product Designer Contractor Apply
This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Lead Product Designer-Contractor in the United States.
We are seeking a creative and strategic Lead Product Designer to join a fast-moving, project-based initiative focused on product-led growth. This role centers on designing engaging experiences that drive user acquisition, organic discovery, and conversion, working across product, engineering, marketing, and design leadership. You will lead the end-to-end design process, from concepting and prototyping to delivering developer-ready designs, while leveraging user insights and business objectives. The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguity, balances strategic thinking with strong visual execution, and can move fluidly between storytelling, experimentation, and high-fidelity prototyping. This position offers an opportunity to make a tangible impact on product growth while collaborating in a fully remote and dynamic environment.
Accountabilities:
- Lead design exploration from initial concepts to user-tested prototypes and high-fidelity, developer-ready deliverables.
- Partner with product management, marketing, and design leadership to translate insights into actionable design hypotheses and experiments.
- Create interactive prototypes that effectively communicate interaction, flow, and motion for testing and stakeholder alignment.
- Ensure scalability of design solutions and alignment with broader product ecosystems.
- Manage your own project timelines, maintain transparent progress updates, and present design work clearly to stakeholders.
- Explore and implement innovative tools, including AI-assisted design workflows and Figma plug-ins, to optimize ideation and prototyping processes.
Requirements
- 5–8+ years of experience designing digital products, preferably consumer-facing or marketplace platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to convert ambiguous problems into clear, testable design directions.
- Strong balance of strategic thinking, visual design, and brand execution.
- Advanced proficiency in Figma, including components, variants, auto-layout, and prototyping.
- Experience with at least one motion tool such as Framer, Principle, ProtoPie, or After Effects.
- Proven track record collaborating across discovery, concepting, and validation phases with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills and experience aligning teams, presenting concepts, and facilitating collaborative decision-making.
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, remote, project-based environment with transparent communication.
- Bonus: Interest in leveraging AI tools to accelerate design exploration, prototyping, or content creation.
Benefits
- Project-based contract role: 3–4 months, 30 hours per week at $90/hour.
- Opportunity to shape impactful user experiences and influence product growth.
- Collaborate with a fully remote, talented, and cross-functional team.
- Work in a dynamic, creative, and flexible environment where your contributions are highly visible.
- Exposure to cutting-edge design and experimentation practices, including AI-assisted workflows.
