JOB OVERVIEW
Revitalize and provide robust support for a critical application integral to many of Wellingtons investors, known as the Fixed Income Analytics Risk Management Systems (FARMS). This application provides real-time analytics directly to many investors and powers countless of Wellingtons applications including our just-released next-generation Portfolio Management System, Alpine. FARMS poses a high level of complexity with intricate business logic, extensive mathematical computations, and strict adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and system availability standards. Successful execution of this role demands a solid technical foundation, coupled with active collaboration with other technical leaders and business users, particularly the Global Risk & Analytics team.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead tracks of work involving high complexity, mission critical AWS-based java services & data applications
  • Learn about investment data from the fundamentals of portfolio holdings to risk computations and models
  • Lead the delivery of high-quality business solutions, including participating in architecture, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and support
  • Be a thought partner to the Global Risk & Analytics team working directly with Quantitative analysts
  • Design, prototype and code new software components and applications based on functional specifications across the full stack services, web and mobile clients, infrastructure, and back-end
  • Coordinate with analyst teams and vendors to execute test plans and provide support during user acceptance testing
  • Modify and enhance existing systems to incorporate new functionality and to optimize them for performance
  • Author technical design and support documentation

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Demonstrated experience designing and developing applications and services using Java version 11 or higher
  • Some experience in finance, risk, and analytics or mathematics is strongly preferred
  • Deep expertise in AWS Cloud computing, specifically focusing on S3, AWS Batch, EC2, ECS, RDS, and Cloud formation
  • Thorough understanding, analysis, and optimization of complex SQL Experience in python is a strong plus
  • Excellent communication skills to actively engage in collaborative problem-solving discussions with the Global Risk & Analytics team and other team members
  • Proficiency in automating build, test, and deployment processes

The base salary range for this position is:
USD 80,000 - 180,000
This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; role; skills and experience; certifications; and education. This range is an estimate, and further details on salary and total compensation aspects will be shared with candidates during the recruitment process.

Base salary is only one component of Wellingtons total compensation approach. Other rewards may include a discretionary Corporate Bonus and/ or Incentives, if eligible.
