Job Title: Lead Structural Engineer

Location: Florence, SC / Bowling Green, KY / Smyrna, TN (Remote 30% Travel)

Job Type: Contract to hire

Client-Group has an outstanding opportunity for a results-driven Structural Design Engineer to join us. This individual will support the design and construction of a variety of new projects and renovations to existing industrial, manufacturing, and office facilities at various sites. You will assist in the design and construction activities of multiple critical capex projects while working with internal and external stakeholders, interfacing with end users, construction engineering, and manufacturing engineering teams.

What You'll Do

  • Coordinate structural design on multidiscipline project teams including Mechanical, Electrical, Piping/Plumbing (MEP) professionals.
  • Conduct structural analysis and design of concrete and steel structures, along with the creation of justifying structural calculations.
  • Make technical assumptions, think independently to complete assigned work, and draw conclusions based on engineering judgment.
  • Develop and mentor less experienced engineering staff.
  • Present 30% 60% 90% design reviews to stakeholders and multi-discipline teams
  • Complete field work independently or with the design team
  • Manage structural projects from estimating through construction.
  • Working knowledge of US building codes and structural design standards.
  • Provide planning estimates with limited scoping information.
  • Collaborate with various multi-disciplines design teams, and liaise with manufacturing, construction, and facility stakeholders to understand the project requirements, and deliver fully coordinated sets of construction documents
  • Interface with external design consultants during design, bid and project execution as needed to ensure that design and specifications meet the project requirements.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in structural design of industrial, manufacturing, semiconductor, bio lab, or pharmaceutical industries
  • Registered and in good standing as a Professional Engineer (PE) (preference for a PE in KY/TN/SC) and with an active NCEES record and the ability to acquire a PE license from other States. Familiarity with Revit and experience with Navisworks.
  • Willingness to work overtime to meet deadlines.
  • Able to multi-task and be flexible/adapt to rapidly changing project requirements/timelines.
  • Ability to uphold the use of standards and escalate issues in a timely fashion.
  • Self-directed, highly motivated self-starter with solid writing and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
