FABCO is a fast-growing, full-service structural steel fabricator with a state-of-the-art facility in Woodburn, Oregon. Our highly skilled team and advanced technology allows us to successfully deliver projects ranging from small fabrication to large-scale commercial work. We are seeking a Lead Structural Steel Estimator to join our team. This is a key leadership role responsible not only for preparing accurate estimates, but also for overseeing estimating workflow, delegating work, and prioritizing projects across the estimating team. Job Overview: The Lead Structural Steel Estimator will play a critical role in FABCO's continued growth by producing high-quality estimates while providing direction and coordination within the estimating function. This individual will work closely with project managers, operations, and leadership to ensure estimates are accurate, competitive, and aligned with project priorities. Job Duties: Prepare accurate and timely structural and commercial steel estimates for materials, labor, and equipment Analyze construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents to determine scope and cost Lead and support the estimating team, including delegating estimating tasks and balancing workloads Prioritize multiple estimating projects to meet bid deadlines and business needs Develop project budgets and support cost-control strategies Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to ensure estimate accuracy and constructability Review contracts and project requirements to identify risks and opportunites Serve as a point of contact with clients from initial estimate though project award and completion Qualification & Skills: Proven experience in structural steel or construction estimating (steel fabrication experience strongly preferred) Experience functioning in a lead or senior estimating role Demonstrated ability to delegate work, manage priorities, and coordinate team efforts Strong understanding of construction methods, cost control, and estimating principles Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications Experience negotiating pricing with vendors and subcontractors Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Competitive Wage Paid Time Off Medical Insurance 401k Ability to commute: Woodburn, OR 97071 (Required) FABCO is an equal-opportunity employer.
