Title: Lead Substation Protection & Control Engineer Location: Remote US Description ICF is seeking a Lead Substation P&C Engineer to design relay, protection, and control projects on high voltage substations (12kV–500kV), ensuring high‑quality deliverables for our clients. What You Will Be Doing Design and prepare protection and control drawings including: Protective schemes Substation relay one‑line and three‑line diagrams AC/DC schematics Substation panel layouts Substation wiring diagrams and cable schedules SCADA and communication diagrams Perform DC and AC system calculations Develop equipment specifications and bills of materials based on client criteria Coordinate with drafting and settings disciplines to ensure quality deliverables Participate in client meetings and site visits for data gathering Incorporate vendor information into designs Apply client standards and provide field support during construction Ensure QA/QC processes are followed on all design packages Continuously improve engineering knowledge, skills, and performance Minimum Qualifications B.S. in Electrical, Computer or related engineering 5+ years of protection and controls experience Proficiency with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and MicroStation Preferred Skills EIT or PE license Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills Knowledge of NEC, NESC, IEEE, ANSI standards Experience with design tools and principles for technical plans and drawings Benefits Competitive pay range: $98,614 – $202,850 (full‑time, nationwide remote) Professional development and tuition reimbursement 401 k matching and Employee Stock Purchase Plan Volunteer opportunities and donation matching Remote work and flexible schedule Equal Opportunity Employer ICF is an equal opportunity employer.
