Job Description:

The Lead Teacher is responsible for day-to-day activities including but not limited to teaching children valuable lessons, keeping the classroom clean and organized, tracking student’s attendance, meals and development, supervising teacher assistants, aides and on occasion volunteers, engaging parents and caregivers in the development of children and discussing any and all issues with Directors.

Requirements

• Certified teacher with Masters ($72,000) or on a study plan/process of achieving these credentials ($50,000)

• Interacting with children
• Problem-solving
• Understanding that each child is unique and has unique needs
• Working with each child to help them develop
• Listening to parent concerns as well as children’s concerns
• Speaking clearly to children and setting realistic goals
• Record keeping of attendance, meals and child development
• Keeping the classroom neat and organized
• Bachelors degree preferred
• NYS Early Childhood Certification-Birth-2nd preferred
