Learning Resource Specialist - Middle School:
St Thomas More Cathedral School, located in Arlington, VA, is seeking a part-time Middle School learning resource teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. Duties include: collaborating with teachers to identify students who may have learning needs; supporting faculty and parents to ensure that student accommodations are made according to Student Assistance Plans (SAPs); using research-based intervention practices to maximize student success; documenting student progress; willingness to run a support class either before or after school, and facilitating meetings with teachers and parents/guardians. The ideal candidate has: a deep devotion to the Catholic faith, experience teaching Middle School, strong classroom management techniques, proficiency in writing and updating SAPs, attention to detail, and effective communication skills. Candidates should be passionate about education, and have an understanding of inclusion and best practices in supporting all types of learners. Preferred qualifications include a masters degree in special education or related degree/experience, and Virginia state licensure or the ability to obtain VCEA certification. Salary is competitive and based on experience.
