Position Summary:
The Student Housing Leasing Manager is responsible for leading all leasing efforts, driving occupancy, and managing the leasing team to ensure a successful leasing season. This position plays a vital role in marketing, outreach, customer service, and maintaining high levels of resident satisfaction, while working in a fast-paced and student-centered environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Leasing & Occupancy Management
Oversee all leasing efforts to meet or exceed occupancy goals
Conduct tours, respond to leasing inquiries, and maintain thorough knowledge of floor plans, availability, pricing, and lease terms
Ensure accurate completion of leasing paperwork and maintain compliance with Fair Housing regulations
Assist with roommate matching processes and guide prospects through application and lease execution
Team Leadership
Train, motivate, and manage leasing agents and student brand ambassadors
Coordinate daily leasing activities, set leasing goals, and monitor performance
Conduct regular leasing meetings and training sessions
Assist with onboarding and coaching new leasing staff
Marketing & Outreach
Execute marketing strategies including digital, print, campus, and community outreach
Build strong relationships with campus groups, university staff, and student organizations
Organize and attend housing fairs, tabling events, and resident engagement activities
Collaborate with marketing teams to manage social media accounts and promotional campaigns
Customer Service & Resident Retention
Ensure an excellent customer service experience for all prospects and residents
Handle escalated resident concerns during the leasing process
Support resident renewal efforts and retention campaigns
Administrative & Reporting
Maintain accurate leasing records in property management software
Generate weekly leasing and traffic reports for management review
Track leasing metrics and implement strategies for improvement
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred
2+ years of leasing or sales experience, preferably in student housing
1+ year of supervisory or team leadership experience
Strong understanding of Fair Housing and leasing regulations
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Proficiency with property management software (AppFolio, not required)
Must be dependable and able to work in a fast-paced environment
Must pass a background check
Must pass a drug screening
Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM
Ability to work occasional Saturday as needed
Peak turn season (July 31 - August 16)
Working Conditions:
Fast-paced environment, especially during pre-lease and move-in/move-out periods
On-site presence required with occasional local travel for outreach and events
