Department Information The Department of Management & Information Systems (MGIS) resides in the Mike Cottrell College of Business (MCCB) and is one of the larger departments in the MCCB and includes a major in Information Systems and major in Management with concentrations in Business Leadership and Entrepreneurship as part of the BBA degree program and a BAS degree in Technology Management. MCCB has AACSB accreditation business school with over 4,800 students across five campuses. The College is home to Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation and the Truist Center for Ethical Leadership. In addition to the BBAs in Information Systems and Management, the College offers undergraduate degrees in Marketing, Accounting, and Finance. MCCB graduate programs include the Cottrell MBA, Master of Accountancy, and a Technology Leadership graduate certificate. The MCCB international group of teacher‑scholars provides an exceptional learning community to prepare students for their professional roles and to engage with business and industry in the region to foster economic development. The college moved into its new building, the Cottrell Center for Business, Technology & Innovation located on the Dahlonega campus, in fall 2022. The facility fosters a state‑of‑the‑art learning environment with specialized spaces for computer science, including a cyber range, forensics/cyber lab, and hardware/networking lab. Job Summary The Department of Management & Information Systems in the Mike Cottrell College of Business (MCCB) at the University of North Georgia (UNG) invites applicants for a Lecturer position in Information Systems starting August 2026. The successful candidate will teach introductory and upper division information systems courses for business and information systems majors and minors, as well as some general education information technology courses. Applicants are expected to demonstrate exemplary teaching, a strong publication record and research pipeline, and currency in their professional field. Quality teaching and student engagement are high priorities in the MCCB. Please be advised that any offer of employment is contingent upon your eligibility to work in the United States. Responsibilities The faculty member will teach introductory and upper division information systems courses for business and information systems majors and minors, as well as some general education information technology courses. Engage with the business community to further the goals of the Mike Cottrell College of Business (e.g., connecting students to potential employers). Participate as an active contributing member to the service activities of the college. Perform other related duties that may be assigned. Required Qualifications An earned master's degree in an area with a primary focus on management, with at least 18 graduate hours in management or equivalent, preferably from an AACSB‑accredited institution, is required at the time of hire. Preference will be given to those applicants who have a record of excellent teaching and practice in the area of information systems, information technology, and related areas. Preferred Qualifications Evidence of superior teaching abilities is strongly preferred. Professional experience or certifications in specialized areas in information systems or information technology is preferred.
