Please note that this vacancy is an appointment with the Department of Health and the University of the Western Cape. The successful appointment is under the service and employment conditions of the University. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key responsibility areas: Coordinating activities for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Supervision of Masters level research if he/she holds a PhD. Teaching and learning at an undergraduate level and/or postgraduate level. Participate in research programmes, Develop industry and academic partnerships. Engage in community outreach. Qualifications A Master's in Nursing or in a related Health discipline. Experience in teaching. Evidence of publication output. Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse / Midwife / Community Health Nurse/Psychiatric Nurse. Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Nurse Educator. Registration with the South African Nursing Council as an Assessor and Moderator. Additional Requirements The ideal candidate for this position should be a highly‑motivated person progressing or registered for a PhD in Nursing. Experience in clinical supervision. An additional qualification in Primary Care Nursing. Submission Requirements Submission of a copy of your Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse / Midwife / Community Health Nurse/Psychiatric Nurse and Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Nurse Educator is a necessity. Additional Information Please note that this position is part of the Joint Establishment, which refers to a formal collaborative agreement between the University and the Provincial Health Department. The appointed individual will be expected to engage in both academic responsibilities and service delivery, as per the collaborative agreement with the Provincial Health Department. This includes contributing to the clinical service delivery component, in line with the requirements of the service delivery model.
