Job Title: Legal Assistant

Location: Haddonfield, NJ (on-site)

Compensation: $55,000-$60,000/yr

Job Summary:

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Workers’ Compensation Legal Assistant to support their busy law firm in Haddonfield, NJ. The ideal candidate will have 1–3 years of experience in NJ Workers' Comp law and be proficient in case management software and document preparation for workers' compensation claims.

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft Legal Documents: Prepare and review pleadings, Claim Petitions, motions, and interrogatories.
• Case Management: Manage full-cycle case files, ensuring all NJ court deadlines and statutes of limitations are met.
• NJ E-Filing: Perform electronic filing (E-filing) of legal documents with New Jersey courts and administrative agencies.
• Client & Provider Liaison: Communicate professionally with clients, insurance carriers, and medical providers to gather medical records and bills.
• Scheduling: Coordinate and schedule IMEs (Independent Medical Examinations), depositions, and hearings.
• Discovery Support: Assist attorneys with the discovery process, including organizing and analyzing medical evidence.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 1–3+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant or Legal Secretary in a Workers’ Compensation practice.
• NJ Law Knowledge: Deep understanding of New Jersey workers’ compensation procedures and terminology.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal software
• Education: Paralegal certificate or relevant law firm experience preferred.
