Contract Opportunity: Immigration & Nationality Law Legal Assistant

We are seeking two reliable Temporary Legal Assistants to work onsite and support our Paralegal Team at Robert M. Bell P.A., specializing in Immigration and Nationality Law. This assignment requires a minimum commitment of 3-6 months. The ideal candidates will be detail-oriented, well-organized, and efficient in completing tasks on time. Punctuality and reliability are essential.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Paralegal Team with various legal tasks
  • Support clients and attorneys with preparing and submitting immigration applications
  • Communicate with clients in person and by phone to gather documents and provide case updates
  • Collect and organize documents from clients in person and electronically
  • Explain timelines and manage client expectations
  • Perform additional tasks as needed

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of legal experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish required)
  • Proficient in computer applications

Software Skills:

  • Experience with case management software (MyCase or similar) and calendaring
  • Familiarity with Docketwise immigration form software
  • Proficiency in Word and Outlook
  • Knowledge of the USCIS website is a plus

Benefits

Compensation:

  • $27-$30 per hour (commensurate with experience) as a 1099 Independent Contractor
