Government Center 301 Court Ave Park Rapids, MN 56470, USA Provide legal office support to the County Attorney and Assistant County Attorneys by preparing and maintaining documents and coordinating activities supporting office functions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintain and manage electronic case files, prepare and proof legal documents, and support attorneys with case preparation and administrative tasks. Review law enforcement reports to determine offense levels, organize case data, and gather records for court files. Coordinate attorney and staff workflow, oversee electronic filing systems, and help develop office procedures. Additional duties include administering the Juvenile Diversion Program, coordinating forfeitures and extraditions, drafting subpoenas and orders, performing filing functions, and assisting with basic IT troubleshooting. Qualifications and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities High school graduate or equivalent 2 years post-secondary education in legal administration or related field, or 2 years relevant work experience, or equivalent combination (equate to 2 years) Eligible to become a Notary Public in the State of MN Successful completion of a MN Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) background check Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge: Microsoft Office suite (Word and Excel). Office procedures, data entry and record keeping. Legal terminology and procedures. Criminal, civil and juvenile justice systems. Adhere to all laws, statutes, policies and rules with the essential level of confidentiality and safety required of the position. Skills: English grammar, punctuation and vocabulary. Customer service. Effective communication, both orally and written. Attend trainings/meetings/make office deliveries, on an as needed basis, via a reliable means of transportation. Proficient in using automated systems relevant to the position. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing with all stakeholders relevant to the position. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, accuracy, and problem solving. Abilities: Demonstrated ability to follow established procedures and directives from supervisors. Organized. Attention to detail. Maintain confidentiality. Handle multiple tasks. Establish and maintain effective working relationships. Follow established procedures and directives from supervisors. Preferred Qualifications Work experience in a county legal department (i.e. County Attorney, Court Administration) Work experience in other government entity legal department (i.e. City Attorney, public defender, defense work) or criminal law work experience Work experience with prosecutorial case management system software Work experience with MN Court Information systems (MNCIS) and/or programs that utilize electronic filing, sharing court information and retrieval of court documents Work experience with a law enforcement agency’s records management system (RMS) and/or Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) Physical Requirements Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
