The Rallye Motor Company, Long Island's premier luxury automotive group, has an opportunity for an experienced Automotive Sales Manager with Rallye Lexus! The Lexus General Sales Manager will manager and sell Lexus product line by promoting Lexus standards for superior customer, employee, and retail facility management. Achieve retail facility goals by training, motivating, coaching, and developing expert sales staff. The ideal candidate will have outstanding communication skills and proven ability in leading their team to success!

Responsibilities:

Customer Responsibilities

  • Ensure that customers enjoy the shopping and buying experience by providing professional, timely, thorough service, as well as up-to-date product and pricing information. Thoroughly train sales specialists and continually upgrade their expertise.
  • Achieve a high level of repeat purchases from existing and new customers.
  • Serve as a role model on expert customer dealings.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with customers through retail facility surveys and retail facility sponsored customer events.
  • Achieve Elite of Lexus by being highly responsive to customer needs and quickly resolving customer problems and complaints.
  • Upgrade knowledge of Lexus products and services and maintain professional and technical expertise by attending trade shows and/or educational programs, establishing personal networks, reviewing industry publications, and participating in professional societies.

Marketing Responsibilities

  • Develop and achieve aggressive new car unit sales targets for retail and fleet customers.
  • Attempt to achieve a high ratio of used vehicle sales to new vehicle sales.
  • Achieve profit goals by developing and meeting target levels of gross profit per unit.
  • Meet F&I penetration goals by actively promoting this service to customers. Develop and implement new programs as needed.
  • Increase retail facility business and Lexus market share by assisting General Manager with developing and implementing effective marketing strategies, advertising, merchandising, promotions, sales contests, and by adopting factory programs.
  • Establish and adjust pricing by monitoring costs, competition, supply and demand, and retail facility profit/return on investment/equity expectations.
  • Control costs by setting and achieving budgets, monitoring expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective action.
  • Plan annual and monthly departmental forecasts, manpower objectives, vehicle inventory, gross objectives, and controllable expenses so that a reasonable profit is attained.

Transaction Responsibilities

  • Ensure correct handling of sales transactions by properly training and monitoring managers and staff.
  • Ensure regular use of sales prospecting, traffic control, and follow-up systems to increase retailer business.
  • Maintain supply and support systems, including literature, display materials, pricing references, and other materials to adequately promote Lexus products and services.
  • Control administrative activities to ensure speed and accuracy of transactions.
  • Maintain strong relations with manufacturers and suppliers by following all program guidelines, warranties, bulletins, campaigns, etc., and making sure policies do not conflict with Lexus practices.

Logistical Responsibilities

  • Maintain sales volume and product mix by offering balanced and representative new car inventories.
  • Maintain the security and good condition of vehicle inventories.
  • Ensure safe and proper maintenance and use of physical resources including exterior display, parking, showroom area, display systems, and demonstrator vehicles.
  • Meet all Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, and ordinances for operating a car retail facility and selling cars.

People Management Responsibilities

  • Hire, train, coach, counsel, and develop sales staff.
  • Define and monitor performance of direct reports by communicating goals and developing work plans, such as daily call reports and monthly/ annual territory analyses. Evaluate employee performance and provide counseling and assistance as needed.
  • Work with General Manager to determine appropriate staffing levels. Execute hire or termination decisions. Ensure high quality of new hires by thorough screening and selection of candidates.
  • Maintain high morale, low turnover, and high promotion by being responsive to employees, developing their skills, quickly resolving any problems or complaints, and rewarding superior performance.
  • Better serve customers by fostering a cooperative team approach with other managers, employees, and departments.
  • Ensure standard operating procedures (such as those for Closing, Delivery, and Owner Relations) are understood and followed by appropriate staff by training staff as necessary.

Pay: $170,000 to $190,000 commissioned based

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years Automotive Management Experience
  • Automotive sales & F&I experience required
  • Experience with the Lexus brand is deesired
  • Excellent leadership, management, and communication skills; goal oriented.
  • Experiences and/or highly knowledgeable on operating a car sales department, including skills in advertising, merchandising, inventory, financing, and selling cars.
  • Ability to recruit, train, motivate, and manage a sales staff. Ability to manage, motivate, evaluate, develop and direct staff.
  • Working knowledge or trainable in automotive retail center computer systems
  • Ability to interpret material provided by management and other sources.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and organization skills.
  • Technically knowledgeable, experienced, or trainable on Lexus product line.
  • Outgoing and patient personality with good customer relation’s ability.
  • Professional personal appearance.
  • Good working knowledge of the highway & road systems in the retail centers market area.
