JOB DESCRIPTION:

Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center provides community programming via arts, health, youth, and events to strengthen and support the LGBTQ+ community in the greater Lehigh Valley. Our Center has become a regional and statewide leader in LGBTQ+ health promotion, and received recognition for our life-enriching LGBTQ+ community programs. Our Center prides itself on providing services to address the unique needs that exist for LGBTQ+ people.

Position Description:
This position works collaboratively as a part of the Events & Communications teams. The Coordinator is critical to the teams ability to provide excellent customer service to our community, supporters, staff and funders. This position requires marketing, communication, planning and event skills including, but not limited to, research, data entry, community outreach, and record-keeping, the position is responsible for assisting with daily procedures related to events, research and coordination, and administration of marketing & communication needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Events:

  • Assist with the coordination of events.
  • Vetting & Booking vendors.
  • Vetting & Booking Entertainment.
  • Assist and Coordinate City Services for large scale events (permits, trash, EMS, Fire, PD, Health and Sanitation) submit applications etc.
  • Sending Contracts & collecting W-9s.
  • Attend off site meetings with Events Manager or Leadership.
  • Documenting event meeting notes.

Communications Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the creation and compilation of content for our Pride & Gala app, playing a vital role in its development.
  • Facilitate event swag logistics by coordinating requests, managing price quotes, and handling invoices.
  • Provide support for event signage creation, such as placement at venue, sizing, branding, proofing, etc.
  • Create & maintain relationships with printing companies, with guides for product catalogs and general pricing for everyday items.
  • Backup support for website changes, such as name and title changes, updating information on an existing page, or assisting to create event pages. This is a team effort for the department.
  • Support the creation of the annual impact report, such as coordinating with multiple departments, collecting and editing copy, and overseeing the layout of the report.
  • Curate mailing lists for appeals to community members, vendors, and businesses.
  • Collaboratively crafting tailored social media posts and campaigns for events, actively contributing to their promotion and engagement.

Overall Position Duties:

  • Attend staff meetings, events and training as required by the Center.
  • Provide reports as requested by supervisor, leadership, or the Board of Directors.
  • Cover and assist with the front desk as needed (lunches, vacations, etc.)

Qualifications and Characteristics:

  • Non-profit experience is a plus.
  • Associates Degree; however, commensurate years of experience may exempt degree.
  • Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police, and FBI criminal background checks are required for this position.
  • Cultural competency around LGBTQ+ communities, including at the intersection of race/ethnicity, gender, and disability is essential.
  • Phone and email based communication.
  • Reviewing and comprehending contracts.
  • Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail.
  • Outstanding written, communication, and editing skills.
  • Proficient in Google Workspace applications, Gmail, Google Chat, Google Drive, and Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Knowledge of the principles, methods, or tools for developing, scheduling, coordinating, and managing multiple projects and resources
  • Demonstrated proficiency in marketing principles, social media campaigns, and program management for strategizing and implementing effective marketing campaigns while actively engaging with our community.
  • Demonstrated track record of setting and achieving goals.
  • Ability to be flexible and positive in a fast-paced environment is required.

Preferences:

  • Spanish Language spoken and written proficiency
  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • Working knowledge of Adobe CC, e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro
  • Proficiency with project management systems, e.g. ASANA

Benefits/Compensation

This full-time position offers a salary range of $39,000-$44,000. Salary offered will be commensurate with applicants experience. Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center offers rich benefits, credit union access, paid personal time, four weeks of vacation and 15 paid Holidays.
