The CSU Extension Program Assistant role consists of a variety of tasks of routine difficulty related to and in support of the Library, Arts & History, and CSU Extension department and providing information and assistance to City and County staff and the public.
Hiring Range: $15.99 - $18.81 / hr
Essential Required Tasks/Examples of Duties

Maintains confidentiality of information consistent with applicable federal, state and city/county rules and regulations.
General Duties:
Under direct/close supervision, may perform the following tasks (listed tasks are illustrative only and it not a comprehensive list of functions and tasks performed in this class):
- Attend in-person outreach events at designated locations in the community to raise awareness of CSU Extension programs.
- Support CSU Extension staff with set-up, clean-up, and organizational tasks related to garden programs.
- Help with general garden maintenance as needed.
- Assist with translation of program materials.
Deliver in person programs in Spanish to youth and adults, with training and support from CSU Extension staff.
Miscellaneous Duties:
Takes proper safety precautions, anticipates unsafe circumstances, and acts accordingly to prevent accidents. Uses all required safety equipment. Responsible for the safety of self, others, assets, equipment and facilities; responsible for knowing and complying with all City and County of Broomfield and department policies; adheres to attendance and workplace attire policies. Performs related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Training - High School Diploma or GED
Experience Experience in customer support, community engagement, or related field
Desired Applicant Traits -
Bilingual in English and Spanish - native Spanish speaker preferred.- Ability to work well with people of all ages and backgrounds.
Comfortable speaking in front of groups and engaging with others one on one.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, volunteers, and the public.
Working Conditions
- Requires indoor and outdoor activities.
- Work will primarily take place at the CSU Extension office and Library, the Teaching Vegetable Garden at Brunner Farmhouse, and at various community locations selected for outreach.
- Some weekends and occasional evenings are required.
Some opportunities for remote work with flexible scheduling.
Required to lift, push, pull, or otherwise move objects during program activities.
