Responsible for performing non-professional duties requiring operational skills and basic knowledge of library practices and procedures.Description of Duties Assists patrons with library electronic databases and search tools including online catalog. Assists patrons with check-in and check-out of library books and equipment. Performs bibliographic verification for ordering, cataloging, and interlibrary loan. Responsible for processing orders and cancellations. Processes library books and periodicals. Assists at reference or service desk. Maintains library shelves in proper order and assists patrons in locating materials. Assists patrons with use of library equipment. Receives mail and shipments. Evaluates and handles patron inquiries and complaints. Inputs data into databases and spreadsheets. Assists Librarians in gathering information. Performs other duties as assigned.Supervision ReceivedDirect supervision from the assigned supervisor.Supervision GivenSupervises assigned staff.Required EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent.Preferred EducationN/ALicenses/CertificationsNone.Required ExperienceTwo (2) years of general office related experience.Preferred ExperienceTwo (2) years of library experience.EquipmentOffice Environment; some travel and weekend work is required.
