Position SummaryReporting to the Remote Storage Facilities Coordinator: Duties consist of working with offsite Remote Storage Coordinator on special projects, processing books into high density shelving, scanning of interlibrary loan requests, and other duties as assigned.Reporting to the Head of Access Services: Duties consist of reporting to work in the Main Library on campus on various days of the week to assist on projects. These projects include work in Stacks Maintenance: building book trucks, conducting book sweeps, shelving books, pulling books, conducting shelf checks, monitoring for overcrowding, assisting with future shifting needs, and other duties as assigned.In both locations, work is of a very physical nature, requiring standing, frequent lifting of 50 pounds or more, and moving and climbing access ladders. Must have reliable transportation and flexibility to report for work at both the Main Library on campus and the offsite Remote Storage Facility on alternating days of the week, as needed. Previous and recent experience in academic Libraries is also required.The MSU Libraries values diversity of thought, perspective and experience and is actively committed to a culture of inclusion and respect.
