Pro Med Healthcare Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team as a School Nurse. In this vital role, you will read student specific emergency/health plan to become aware of all medical orders and requirements for students assigned.

Respond to the unique medical needs for each student as they arise.

Maintain student records via computer based and /or paper log.

Comply with all medical and ethical requirements imposed by the State of Florida, Board of Medicine, the Department of Professional Regulations.

  • Start date: ASAP
  • Per Diem
  • Pay: $28-30
  • Shift time: Day

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement health care plans for students with chronic conditions or special health needs.
  • Assess students for health issues and provide appropriate treatment or referrals to healthcare providers.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with regulations.
  • Provide health education to students, parents, and staff, promoting health and wellness initiatives within the school.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and provide first-aid care as needed.
  • Maintain accurate health records and documentation in accordance with legal and district requirements.
  • Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and parents to create a safe and supportive learning environment.

Requirements

  • Active LPN license in the state of practice.
  • Previous experience in nursing, preferably in a school or pediatric setting.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills working with students, parents, and school staff.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Organizational skills to manage student health records and care plans effectively.
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
