Licensed Practical NurseThe Wisconsin Veterans Home at Union Grove (WVHUG) is recruiting for a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our dedicated nursing team. The home is a 24/7/365 long-term care facility that provides comfort, support, and professional healthcare services to elderly or disabled veterans and their spouses. Our facility is in Racine County, a short drive from Milwaukee, Racine, Kenosha, and other key locations in southeastern Wisconsin. Our LPNs are responsible for providing quality, routine, direct and indirect patient care for geriatric and/or disabled members of WVHUG. Duties include assisting the registered nurses in making critical observations of clients and assisting in complex care situations; working directly with families; assisting in personal care; administering and documenting treatments and medication; participating in the maintenance of the care unit; and working with an interdisciplinary team.Hiring for: 1 PM 60% FTE (Part-Time) and 1 PM 1.0 FTE (Full-Time). Our LPN positions work multiple shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. Job duties require the ability to move, reposition and transport patients, stand and/or walk up to 75% of an eight-hour day to provide assessments, sit, kneel, stoop, make visual observations, lift, push, pull, carry, reach, maintain hygiene, use special safety equipment, and wear protective clothing. Employment in this position is contingent upon passing a pre-employment tuberculosis (TB) skin test. Due to the nature of the positions, WDVA will conduct a criminal background check prior to an offer of employment. A 12-month probationary period may be required.Other experience and qualifications: The required qualification is having or being able to get a license as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of Wisconsin or a Nurse Licensure Compact state.
