Must maintain a valid New York State license and registration.

Duties Description: The Office of Children & Family Services (OCFS) is seeking an experienced licensed psychologist to guide OCFS practices with regard to provision of treatment services and support for adolescents with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Incumbent will be responsible for reviewing and oversight of the development and/or revision of current psychological assessments of youth to determine if assessments reflect the needs of disabled youth; review and revise treatment plans to accommodate the needs of disabled youth, and train clinical and facility staff in providing services and support which reflect the specific needs of the youth; design and application of behavioral technology and other appropriate specialized psychological interventions.
Additional duties will be discussed in detail during the interview.

Additional Comments: A starting salary rate increase for staff hired into the Licensed Psychologist titles is in effect. The starting salary for Licensed Psychologists is now $114,444. Staff in these titles have also been approved to receive geographic pay of $20,000.
An individual with experience and the necessary skill sets to provide crucial behavioral and mental health services to adolescents with developmental and intellectual disabilities is preferred.

Background Investigation Requirements:

2) All prospective employees will be screened against the Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR). Prospective employees will be required to pay any necessary fees.

3) For Division of Juvenile Justice and Opportunities for Youth (DJJOY) prospective appointees will be checked against the Staff Exclusion List (SEL) maintained by the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs. Prospective employees whose names appear on the SEL as having been found responsible for serious or repeated acts of abuse or neglect will be barred from appointment and may have their names removed from the eligible list(s) for the title(s) if applicable.
