Oxbow Academy provides very specialized treatment. We are often the last hope to families in crisis who don't know where to turn. Make a real difference to families in need through joining the Oxbow team as our School Counselor.

Students at Oxbow Academy have broken sexual boundaries and struggle with sexual compulsiveness. They commonly have been victims of sexual abuse or sexual trauma. These issues are often misunderstood and result in debilitating anxiety and shame. Our goal is to provide hope where is has been lost, rebuild trust where is has been broken, and help these young men and their families move forward.

As the School Counselor at Oxbow Academy, you will ensure the day-to-day operations of the academic program runs smoothly. With your attention to detail, hands-on approach and continual collaboration with team members, the students will flourish.

Duties include:

- Monitor the GED testing and preparation.

- Help with program development

- Hold orientation for new students

- Maintaining and reporting attendance

- Track teacher and student files

- Assist in hiring

- Assist with course scheduling

- Monitor and report student activities

- Attend IEP meetings when appropriate

- Oversee progress on goals

- Counsel students on career goals and monitor academic progress

- Maintain student transcripts

- Enroll students into proper coursework

- Help with accredidation

Preferred but not required:

- School counseling experience

- Public school experience

- Teaching Certificate

- Administrative background
