The ideal candidate has a passion for clinical care, excellent communication skills, and thrives in a fast‑paced environment focused on quality and patient satisfaction. As an LVN, you will provide support for a diverse number of tasks, including performing allergy and asthma testing, administering injections, educating patients, and creating allergy serums and oral desensitization vials for our food allergy program. This position reports to the Practice Manager and physicians onsite but will work closely with the team consisting of NPs, nurses, other LVNs, and MAs. This position is perfect for an LVN that wants to advance and make a real contribution to their community and team. This is a full‑time, non‑exempt (hourly) position, scheduled for 40 hours per week. Work hours may vary based on assigned clinic location, Monday through Friday. This role will be based primarily in our La Jolla and Solana Beach clinics but may also provide support to other nearby locations within San Diego County. The ideal candidate is adaptable and enjoys collaborating across multiple sites to ensure seamless operations and excellent patient experiences. Key Responsibilities Patient Care & Education Educate patients and families on allergy and asthma management, including respiratory spacer use and anaphylaxis awareness. Deliver high‑quality clinical care and support throughout patient visits. Clinical Procedures & Testing Perform vital signs, patient intake, skin prick, patch, and breathing tests under physician or RN supervision. Administer allergy immunotherapy, nebulized, and respiratory medications per provider orders. Assist with procedures such as spirometry and food/drug challenges. Monitor patients during and after treatments, reporting concerns to clinical leads. Provider Support & Documentation Prepare exam rooms and patients for provider visits; assist during procedures. Send prescriptions, complete care plans, and discharge summaries. Document vitals, test results, and patient data accurately in ModMed EMR. Maintain clean, organized, and well‑stocked clinical spaces. Contribute to a collaborative, team‑based care environment. Administrative & Operational Tasks Submit prior authorizations as needed. Stock and manage inventory for clinical areas, medications, and testing trays. Use sterile technique for serum preparation per ACAAI guidelines. Support both front and back‑office functions as needed. Training, Compliance & Professional Standards Follow HIPAA and OSHA regulations. Demonstrate clinical competence and adhere to nursing leadership directives. Participate in onboarding and training of new team members, sharing Modena’s clinical standards. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications & Requirements Education: Completion of a state‑approved or accredited medical assisting, nursing, or healthcare program (e.g., diploma, associate’s degree, or equivalent). Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of experience in an outpatient clinical setting; allergy/immunology preferred. Experience with EMR systems; ModMed experience is a plus. Licensure & Certification: Active LVN license in the state of employment (California). CPR certification required (or willingness to obtain). Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification. Skills & Abilities: Able to perform complex tasks requiring independent judgment, prioritization and clinical knowledge. Proficient in phlebotomy and pulmonary function testing. Knowledgeable with patient education regarding medications and environmental controls. Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Professional, compassionate, and committed to patient care. Compensation The hourly range for this position is $28.00–$40.00/hour.
