Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) provides clinical support and patient care services as directed by the Registered Nurse Supervisor. This role assists with patient assessments, treatments, and clinic operations to ensure efficient and quality care delivery.Essential FunctionsProvide direct patient care within scope of LVN practice including vital signs, immunizations, wound care, and other treatments as directed by attending medical provider or RN.Assist with patient triage including walk-ins and telephone contacts.Support clinic operations including rooming patients, maintaining patient flow, and preparing exam rooms.Perform basic patient education on health maintenance, medication administration, and follow-up care instructions under supervision.Maintain inventory of medical supplies and assist with ordering as needed.Assist in maintaining medication stock, including checking for expired medications and proper storage.Support COVID-19 screening, testing, and vaccination activities.Document patient interactions and care provided in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system accurately and timely.Participate in quality improvement activities and chart audits as requested.Adhere to applicable internal and external policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.Other duties as assigned to support clinic and patient needs.Minimum QualificationsCurrent California LVN license.One-year previous experience in an outpatient primary care clinic or similar healthcare setting.Knowledge of HIPAA, Privacy Acts, and ability to maintain confidentiality of Protected Health Information.Excellent interpersonal, listening, and communication skills.Ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing deadlines effectively.Familiarity with computers and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.Must possess and maintain a valid CA driver's license.Post job offer: CPR/BLS certification, TB test, and annual flu shot (during flu season) required as a condition of employment unless a medical/religious accommodation is requested. Hepatitis B vaccine offered at no cost to employees but is not mandatory.Native PreferencePreference in hiring is given to either the most qualified applicant or a Native American candidate who meets the minimum qualifications. When two (2) or more Native American candidates have comparable qualifications, the following order of preference shall apply: (1) Members of Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians; (2) Spouses or domestic partners (certified through Tribal Court) of members of Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians; (3) Parents of children of the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians; (4) All other documented Native Americans; (5) All other applicants in accordance with Title 25, U.S. Code, Section 472 and 473. Applicants claiming Native preference must submit verification of Indian eligibility.
