Summary:

• Use a microscope to verify correct part placement and orientation, manually align parts before soldering, and perform post-reflow inspection and touch-ups.

• Identify and repair poor solder joints, solder voids, insufficient solder, solder shorts/bridges, misaligned parts, tombstoned/billboarded components, and other defects during SMT operations.

• Utilize Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) equipment to identify solder defects and distinguish between false calls and real issues.

• Read instructions and identify standard SMT components.

• Work in a fast-paced environment, occasionally requiring overtime.

• Ability to sit for extended periods and focus on detailed tasks.

• Experience with rework equipment such as hot air pencils, hot plates, and BGA removal (ERSA or other OEM).

• Experience with soldering and attaching jumper wires on re-design boards is a plus.

• IPC-610 and IPC J-STD-001 certifications (active or expired) are required.
