JOB TITLE: Light Industrial Machinist

PAY RATE: Up to $50.00 per hour

Summary:

• Plans layout, fabrication, and testing of mechanical devices

• Sets up and operates precision machine tools to create parts, tools, and devices for experimental purposes

• Resolves challenges related to work-holding, materials, machine settings, tools, product specifications, and fabrication methods for production

• Performs precision work to exact tolerances for research engineers in a developmental laboratory setting

• Operates numerically controlled machines when necessary

• Monitors and verifies quality control in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures

• Gathers and manipulates common data, ensuring adequacy and appropriateness

• Develops charts, diagrams, and standard reports

• May operate electronic or mechanical equipment for developing, producing, or testing products and processing data
