Regular NYC (www.regular.nyc) is an Australian lifestyle cafe serving specialty coffee, breakfast, brunch and lunch.
Our background in cafes, specialty coffee and the hospitality industry spans 20+ years. Our journey began in Sydney, Australia, where we owned and operated multiple cafes before venturing to NYC.
Our establishments have always brought community together and emphasized high-quality coffee, food, service, and ambiance.
In short, were all about good stuff, good people and good vibes, and we are looking to add experienced baristas/cashiers to our dynamic team!
We're looking to add an axperienced line cook to our team.
Operating hours: 7-4pm.
The earliest start times will be 6am and latest finish times will be 4:30pm (subject to change).
Pay - $18-$24/hour based upon skill level and experience.
Applicants must:
-Have a minimum of 3 years of NYC kitchen experience
-Have food handlers license
-Be able to do early starts (6am)
-Be able to work weekends
-Have strong knife skills
-Have the ability to work with sharp objects in a safe manner
-Be reliable and have strong work ethic
-Be able to work calmly under pressure in a fast paced environment
-Be able to work as a team
-Have full working rights in the US
-Have the ability to lift 30lbs occasionally
-Be able to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
-Be able to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift
-Be able to follow instructions and communicate with management and fellow employees
-Have a positive 'can do' attitude
Duties and responsibilities include:
-Implementing pre-set menus and prep sheets
-Organizing time efficiently in order to be set up on time every day
-Keeping station organized and clean based on Chef's discretion
-Prepping vegetables, fruit, meats and recipes as directed by head Chef
-Properly shelving and rotating all products according to F.I.F.O. (first in, first out)
-Properly labeling and covering all food at appropriate temperatures
-Assisting fellow Line Cooks during busy times
-Prepping and cleaning during service lulls
-Cooking everything to the absolute best of your ability
-Continuously tasting everything to ensure freshness and consistent flavor/seasoning
-Communicating with Chefs to ensure that food goes out at the same time to complete a tables order
-Responding immediately when asked to do something by Head Chef
-Always being punctual and in complete uniform at start of shift
-Being presentable, groomed and neat at all times
-Maintaining a clean and sanitary workstation and uniform
