DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Liquor Store General Manager 4, you will supervise, manage, and direct activities in state-owned Fine Wine & Good Spirits stores. As general manager, you will implement and apply policies and procedures to ensure efficient operations, assign and evaluate work to develop a high-performing team, and lead your store in providing exceptional customer service. General managers are accountable for the store's overall operation, including sales, store maintenance, merchandise and cash accounting, maintenance of records, and all related functions. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment, 75 hours biweekly
  • Work hours vary between 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM, Sunday - Saturday
  • Salary: The starting salary for this position for new Commonwealth employees is fixed at the minimum salary listed above and is not negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • One year as a Liquor Store General Manager 3C; or
  • Two years as a Liquor Store General Manager 3B; or
  • Three years as a Liquor Store General Manager 3A; or
  • Four years as a Liquor Store General Manager 2B; or
  • Five years as a Liquor Store Assistant Manager 3 or a Liquor Store General Manager 2A; or
  • Eight years of supervisory retail sales work.


Other Requirements:
  • You must meet the PA residency requirement. For more information on ways to meet PA residency requirements, follow the link and click on Residency.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:
  • You must pass a background investigation. An applicant with a felony conviction within the last ten years of their prospective date of employment is not permitted to work for the PLCB, per section 210(c) of the Pennsylvania Liquor Code. Other criminal convictions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
