We are working with an established, growing international law firm seeking a Litigation Associate to join its Los Angeles office as part of the continued expansion of its U.S. platform and West Coast presence. This opportunity is ideal for a California-admitted attorney with at least two years of sophisticated litigation experience who is looking for substantial responsibility, direct client interaction, and exposure to a broad range of complex insurance and commercial litigation matters from an early stage in their career. The associate will work closely with experienced attorneys on a diverse mix of matters that may include insurance coverage and bad faith litigation, complex business disputes, cyber and professional liability claims, product liability, aviation, transportation, energy, toxic torts, marine and admiralty matters, event cancellation and nonappearance claims, and other high-exposure commercial litigation matters. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate seeking both depth and breadth of litigation experience within a collaborative, internationally connected platform. Responsibilities Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests and responses, coverage analyses, litigation reports, and client correspondence Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda addressing insurance coverage, bad faith, and commercial litigation issues Take and defend depositions Attend court appearances, hearings, and mediations Assist with case strategy, motion practice, and overall litigation management Communicate directly with clients regarding case developments, strategy, and reporting Manage assigned matters proactively and efficiently Collaborate closely with partners and colleagues across a broad range of litigation matters Qualifications Admission to the California Bar required At least two years of litigation experience at a law firm Strong experience with drafting, discovery, legal research, motion practice, and depositions Insurance coverage or insurance defense experience strongly preferred, although the firm is willing to train a candidate with strong litigation experience who is interested in doing coverage work Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills Ability to manage complex factual and legal issues in a practical and commercially focused manner Strong client service orientation and professional judgment under pressure Sophisticated civil litigation experience preferred Exposure to London market or international insurer work is a plus Trial experience is beneficial, but not required Opportunity Highlights Significant client exposure and hands‑on responsibility from the outset Opportunity to work directly with senior attorneys helping to grow the firm's West Coast practice Exposure to both domestic and international insurance‑related matters Collaborative and team‑oriented culture with strong mentorship Opportunity to develop broad litigation experience across numerous industries and coverage areas Competitive compensation and benefits package Compensation Expected base salary range: approximately $140,000 to $200,000, depending on experience level and qualifications.
