JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Pre-Litigation Associate Attorney with a minimum of two years of experience in all aspects of personal injury law for our Maryland and Virginia offices. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the pre-litigation process for personal injury cases from intake to settlement, handling a significant caseload, and ensuring clients receive top-tier service. Applicants must be Virginia or Maryland Barred, with at least two years of experience in personal injury law. Spanish or Korean language proficiency is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and assess personal injury claims from the moment of intake, performing thorough evaluations of case merit and legal issues.
- Oversee the preparation and development of cases, including gathering evidence, drafting demand letters, and working with experts.
- Lead negotiations with insurance companies, opposing counsel, and other parties involved to secure favourable settlements for clients.
- Maintain strong communication with clients, providing updates on case progress, explaining legal options, and managing client expectations.
- Manage a high-volume caseload autonomously, ensuring that deadlines are met and cases are processed efficiently.
- Oversee the disbursement of recovery funds to clients and lienholders, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and ethical standards.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active member in good standing with the Virginia or Maryland Bar (DC Bar is a plus).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in personal injury law, specifically in pre-litigation matters.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to independently manage a large caseload with efficiency and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Client-focused with a strong commitment to providing exceptional service.
- Fluency in Spanish or Korean is a plus.
