Job Description:

We are looking for a highly motivated multi-tasker with excellent communication skills and an upbeat attitude. Candidates should be able to complete tasks quickly but accurately, communicate clearly and effectively with other team members and maintain organized and accurate reports related to case files. The ideal Associate has experience in the day-to-day handling of personal injury cases, drafting and filing legal documents (including pleadings, discovery demands and responses and motions) and attending and preparing for depositions, court appearances and mediations. The ideal candidate aims to provide world-class service in a professional and ethical manner to our clients while working to maximize the resolution of each client's claim. This is a fast-paced and high-volume position

Associate Responsibilities:

  1. Upholds client and firm confidentiality
  2. Interacts with clients regularly (at least once every 60 days) to ensure the client is kept informed about events and the progress of their case as well as legal issues
  3. Performs File Reviews that efficiently advance the case
  4. Responsible for identifying & complying with statutes of limitation
  5. Responsible for drafting & filing complaints, pleadings, motions, discovery and responsive pleadings
  6. Conducts and attends depositions, hearings, conferences/appearances & mediations
  7. Maintains utmost professional standards towards the Firm and its clients

Associate Requirements:

  1. Strong customer service skills
  2. Excellent communication skills
  3. Highly organized, efficient and proactive with an attention to detail
  4. Superior writing and oral advocacy skills
  5. Demonstrates a willingness to take on new tasks with a general attitude that no task is too small, impossible or cannot be improved
  6. Law degree from a fully accredited law school
  7. An active member in good standing with the New York State Bar Association
  8. Ability to manage high volume of litigation cases
  9. Self-starter driven by long-term career goals
  10. Bilingual, preferably Spanish, is a plus but is not required
