About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to join a growing, multi-state defense litigation practice in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with at least 5 years of litigation experience who is looking to manage sophisticated, high-exposure matters while gaining meaningful courtroom experience and long-term career growth.

The successful candidate will work on a diverse portfolio of complex litigation matters, including construction law, healthcare liability, oil & gas, product liability, trucking and transportation, catastrophic injury, premises liability, construction defect, and insurance coverage disputes. This role offers significant responsibility, direct client interaction, and a collaborative environment where attorneys are encouraged to develop their litigation and trial skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage litigation matters from initial case evaluation through final resolution.
  • Develop case strategy, evaluate liability, damages, and overall exposure.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents.
  • Handle all aspects of written discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests.
  • Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
  • Represent clients during mediations, hearings, settlement conferences, and other court proceedings.
  • Prepare cases for trial, including witness preparation, exhibit organization, and trial strategy.
  • Conduct legal research and provide strategic recommendations to clients.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients while providing timely reporting and case analysis in accordance with client guidelines.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to deliver efficient and effective legal representation.

Required Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in Oklahoma.
  • Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience.
  • Insurance defense experience is preferred.
  • Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple active matters simultaneously.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and sound professional judgment.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
  • Trial experience is welcomed but not required; candidates with a strong interest in developing trial skills are encouraged to apply.
