Job Title: Medical Technologist (MT/MLS) – Pathology & Laboratory Services

Location: Fort Harrison VA Medical Center
Client: U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs
Project: NCO 19 – Network Contracting Office
Positions: 2 FTE
Job Type: Contract (Onsite)
Duration: Base Year + 1-Year Option (Awarded Project)

Job Overview

We are urgently hiring Medical Technologists (MT/MLS) to support laboratory and pathology services at the VA Medical Center in Fort Harrison, MT. This is an already awarded contract, and candidates are needed immediately.

The technologist will perform a full range of clinical laboratory testing and ensure accurate, timely diagnostic results for veteran patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform clinical laboratory testing across all departments (hematology, chemistry, microbiology, etc.)
  • Analyze specimens and ensure accuracy and reliability of test results
  • Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment
  • Follow all laboratory protocols, quality control, and safety procedures
  • Document results accurately in laboratory information systems
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers for timely diagnosis and treatment
  • Maintain compliance with VA regulations and standards
Minimum QualificationsEducation
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field
Experience
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory experience
  • Must have worked within the last 6 months
Certification (Required)
  • One of the following:
    • American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
    • American Medical Technologists (AMT)
    • American Association of Bioanalysts (AAB)
Certifications
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
Required Documents for Submission
  • Updated CV (last 6 months, no unexplained gaps)
  • 3 professional references
  • OIG clearance report
  • SAM clearance report
  • Proof of certification (ASCP/AMT/AAB)
  • Proof of recent work experience
Compliance & Health Requirements
  • TB testing (TST/IGRA)
  • MMR, Varicella, Tdap, Influenza immunizations
  • Hepatitis B vaccination and bloodborne pathogen training
  • Annual health and safety compliance documentation
  • Ability to obtain and maintain VA credentialing and privileging
  • Strong English communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Completion of VA-required training (EHR, TMS, compliance modules)
