We are urgently hiring Medical Technologists (MT/MLS) to support laboratory and pathology services at the VA Medical Center in Fort Harrison, MT. This is an already awarded contract, and candidates are needed immediately.
The technologist will perform a full range of clinical laboratory testing and ensure accurate, timely diagnostic results for veteran patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Perform clinical laboratory testing across all departments (hematology, chemistry, microbiology, etc.)
- Analyze specimens and ensure accuracy and reliability of test results
- Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment
- Follow all laboratory protocols, quality control, and safety procedures
- Document results accurately in laboratory information systems
- Collaborate with healthcare providers for timely diagnosis and treatment
- Maintain compliance with VA regulations and standards
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field
- Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory experience
- Must have worked within the last 6 months
- One of the following:
- American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
- American Medical Technologists (AMT)
- American Association of Bioanalysts (AAB)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Updated CV (last 6 months, no unexplained gaps)
- 3 professional references
- OIG clearance report
- SAM clearance report
- Proof of certification (ASCP/AMT/AAB)
- Proof of recent work experience
- TB testing (TST/IGRA)
- MMR, Varicella, Tdap, Influenza immunizations
- Hepatitis B vaccination and bloodborne pathogen training
- Annual health and safety compliance documentation
- Ability to obtain and maintain VA credentialing and privileging
- Strong English communication skills (written and verbal)
- Completion of VA-required training (EHR, TMS, compliance modules)
- Awarded project – immediate placement
