Part-Time Logistics AssistantThe Part-Time Logistics Assistant provides vital support to the Fire Department by assisting with the coordination and tracking of uniforms, personal protective equipment (PPE), and operational tools. This position also performs general administrative assistance functions and utilizes firefighting information management systems for inventory tracking, reporting, and compliance. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a fire service environment.Maintain and track department uniforms, PPE, and equipment using fire service inventory systems (e.g., Operative IQ, ESO, Target Solutions, or similar). Assist with logistical functions such as delivery, distribution, and restocking of department supplies. Provide administrative support, including data entry, recordkeeping, filing, form preparation, and meeting assistance. Work with vendors to ensure uniform ordering portals are up to date with approved items and employee allowances. Prepare and reconcile purchase records, P-Card transactions, and basic budget documentation under the supervision of the Deputy Fire Chief. Perform quality checks on incoming supplies and resolve order discrepancies as needed. Organize and maintain storage spaces and supply rooms in a clean, orderly manner. Respond to logistical needs during special events, department trainings, or emergency incidents when directed. Operate department vehicles for transport of materials, as necessary. Answer department phones, respond to emails, and assist walk-in visitors by providing accurate information, directing inquiries to the appropriate personnel, and offering courteous customer service to both internal staff and the general public. All other duties as assigned.High School Diploma or GED required. Associate's degree in Fire Science, Public Administration, Logistics, or a related field preferred. At least one (1) year of experience in the fire service, logistics, or administrative support. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and comfort using data systems and inventory management software. Familiarity with fire department operations and terminology strongly preferred. Valid State of Florida Driver License with acceptable driving record.Working knowledge of NFPA standards related to PPE, particularly NFPA 1851. Ability to use and learn fire-based information systems and asset management tools. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy in a dynamic environment. Capability to work both independently and in coordination with other staff members. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
