Job Description

Supporting and assisting the plant with all incoming and outgoing shipments, foreign and domestic.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for supply chain management duties including selecting carriers, researching shipping methods.
  • Works independently with minimal supervision, exercising discretion, sound judgement, and professionalism in all tasks.
  • Leads the daily operation of incoming and outgoing freight.
  • Assist & monitors transportation budgets to keep cost at or below plan.
  • Selects carriers by researching ideal shipping techniques, routing, and carriers.
  • Facilitate operating cost reductions and develop/implement other programs to support company objectives.
  • Plans and monitors inbound and outgoing deliveries.
  • Works with other departments to incorporate logistics with company procedures and operations.
  • Updates and evaluates metrics to assess performance and implement enhancements.
  • Ensures all operations adhere to laws, guidelines, and ISO requirements.
  • Assists associates within the Materials, Shipping and Receiving Departments on special assignments as required.
  • Close coordination with various Department Managers and Supervisors as required.
  • May be required to perform miscellaneous related duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Assist in preparing shipments.

Qualifications:

  • Trainable; willingness to learn.
  • Must demonstrate a strong attention to detail.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills.
  • Outstanding analytical, problem solving, and organizational abilities.

Education and/or Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Forklift experience a plus

Travel Requirements:

  • None

Physical Requirements:

  • Essential physical requirements, such as climbing stairs, standing, stooping, or typing. Physical effort/lifting, such as sedentary - up to 10 pounds; light - up to 20 pounds.
