Georgia-Pacific is now hiring a Logistics Manager at our Akron, OH Bulk Facility. The Logistics Manager will utilize leadership, logistics experience, and communication to identify and drive improvement opportunities related to people, process, and systems. The ideal candidate will demonstrate safety as the primary value and lead a team which includes a multi-site operation of 24 employees to exceed shipping expectations for operations, vendors, and customers. The candidate must be self-driven and demonstrate a commitment to safety, manufacturing excellence, and quality. The Logistics Manager must also possess strong interpersonal communication and technical skills as well as being capable of leading transformation initiatives. What You Will Do Lead, motivate and develop a team of supervisors and hourly employees to increase individual and overall business performance goals; develop direct report development plans and people management strategies. Build relationships with customers, providing daily conversation regarding product demands and shipment schedules. Coordinate the scheduling of outbound shipments in accordance with customer needs, oversee the receipt of incoming material, and perform incoming inspections. Manage shipping inventory accuracy for the plant. Communicate with Sales and Customer Service teams to meet customer needs. Measure and report the effectiveness of warehousing activities and employee performance. Acquire and maintain knowledge of our inventory control processes, shipping and receiving records, and order processes. Must be able to work a flexible schedule per business needs. May require travel to visit and assist customers as well as GP training opportunities as they arise. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) Prior experience in a shipping/warehouse leadership role in a manufacturing/industrial environment. Experience managing logistic processes and relationships. Advanced experience with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Word. Must have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. What Will Put You Ahead Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, systems engineering, supply chain management, or similar. Certified as an OSHA Train the Trainer Forklift Instructor. Experience with computerized inventory systems. Experience using ERP/WMS software systems. Knowledge of Department of Transportation requirements, drivers, and driver logs. #J-18808-Ljbffr
