Logistics & Shipping Coordinator
Location: Near Columbia, MO
Pay: $24–26/hour
Type: Direct Hire
Schedule: 1st shift (flexible start times between 7:00–8:00am; typical hours 8–5)
About the Role
Kelly Services has a client located near Columbia, MO looking for a Logistics & Shipping Coordinator. This position serves as the primary point of contact for all site shipping and logistics coordination. This role focuses on tracking, documentation, compliance, and coordination, rather than traditional warehousing or material handling.
You’ll ensure shipments move accurately from Point A to Point B, comply with all regulatory requirements, and maintain strict chain-of-custody standards—particularly for temperature-controlled and regulated materials. Your desk will be located within the warehouse environment, but the role is primarily administrative and coordination-based, with occasional light physical activity as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments for internal and external clients
- Ensure shipments comply with local, state, federal, and international regulations
- Maintain accurate chain-of-custody documentation throughout the shipping process
- Schedule and monitor shipments, proactively resolving delays or compliance issues
- Ensure cold/cool chain integrity for temperature-sensitive materials
- Prepare customs documentation, invoices, and shipment records
- Track shipments using Excel and internal systems (Workday or SAP experience a plus)
- Communicate shipment status clearly to internal teams and external partners
- Coordinate couriers, freight forwarders, and shipping vendors
- Maintain inventory of shipping supplies and ensure equipment is calibrated as required
- Support clinical kit distribution and regulated material handling as needed
- Perform light physical tasks (moving packages, occasional unloading, use of pallet jack or carts)
- Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy

Qualifications
- High School Diploma required; college degree preferred
- Experience in logistics, shipping coordination, or regulated environments preferred
- Pharma, healthcare, or GxP experience is a plus (not required)
- Strong Excel skills required (formulas and VLOOKUPs a plus)
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Comfortable tracking multiple shipments simultaneously
- Ability to work in an environment with animals on site (including odors)
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- IATA / Dangerous Goods knowledge preferred or ability to certify within 30 days
