Transportation Coordinator (Logistics Specialist) Position Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Transportation Coordinator (Logistics Specialist) to support transportation operations within a dynamic logistics organization. This role is responsible for coordinating the movement of raw materials and finished goods, ensuring shipments are planned efficiently and delivered on time while maintaining a strong focus on service, cost, and quality. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess strong communication and problem-solving skills, and be comfortable managing a high volume of transportation transactions. Key Responsibilities: Plan and coordinate daily shipments using a Transportation Management System (TMS). Assign freight to carriers and ensure on-time pickups and deliveries. Communicate with carriers, customers, and internal teams to resolve transportation issues. Support order management and transportation compliance activities. Follow routing and truckload optimization standards. Analyze shipment and transportation data to identify cost-saving opportunities. Maintain accurate shipment documentation and records. Assist with transportation projects and process improvement initiatives. Provide support to other Transportation Coordinators as needed. Day-to-Day: Heavy use of Excel and Transportation Management Systems (TMS). Work within Oracle Transportation Management (OTM) or similar platforms. Manage approximately 1050 shipments per day, depending on facility volume. Support 200350 daily orders in a fast-paced environment. Utilize transportation metrics and analytics to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain, customer service, or operations coordination preferred. Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) is preferred. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with customers, carriers, vendors, and internal stakeholders. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and high-volume transactions in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical abilities. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Experience Level: Intermediate Level Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Davidson, NC. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $30.00/hr.
