Job Description
Summary:
Supports the efficient and compliant movement of imported chemicals and products into the company’s supply chain. This role focuses on coordinating global shipments, managing import and regulatory documentation, ensuring adherence to chemical handling standards, and maintaining strong communication with international plants, warehouses, freight partners, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Shipment Coordination
- Monitor and track all inbound shipments to ensure timely arrival.
- Coordinate with Plants, Suppliers, freight forwarders, Warehouses and transport partners on pickup schedules and delivery timelines.
- Liaise with customs brokers and clearance partners to facilitate smooth clearance and resolve any regulatory queries.
- Track and follow up on vessel/flight schedules, transit times, and potential delays.
- Ensure shipments comply with Incoterms, packaging standards, and chemical transport regulations
Documentation and Compliance
- Prepare, verify, and maintain import documents such as commercial invoices, packing lists, BL/AWB, COO, SDS, and HS codes.
- Ensure compliance with chemical import regulations, including hazardous materials classification, labeling, and documentation.
- Ensure all inbound chemicals meet safety, labeling, and packaging requirements as per global and local regulations.
Warehouse & Inventory Management
- Work with warehouse teams to ensure safe receiving, unloading, and inspection of imported chemicals.
- Update ERP/WMS systems with inbound shipment details and batch information.
- Assist with stock reconciliation, shelf‑life tracking, and inventory accuracy.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Prepare daily/weekly inbound shipment status reports and KPI dashboards.
- Track metrics such as lead times, clearance times, demurrage/detention, and freight costs.
- Identify recurring issues and propose improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce delays, and minimize compliance risks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Business, Chemistry, or a related field.
- 2–3 years of experience in logistics or supply chain (internships included).
- Basic understanding of international shipping, Incoterms, and customs processes.
- Familiarity with chemical handling, SDS, and hazardous goods regulations is an advantage.
- Proficiency in MS Office; experience with ERP/WMS systems is a plus.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to work in a fast‑paced, regulated environment.
