Low Voltage Technician - Commercial Cabling

Position Overview

We are seeking a Low Voltage Technician to support structured cabling installations in a hospital environment. This role will assist with installing and routing CAT5e/CAT6 network cabling, building cable pathways, and supporting the Lead Technician and project team in completing installations safely and efficiently.

This is a great opportunity for someone withexperience in structured cabling, construction, or a similar technical environment who is looking to continue developing their skills in the low-voltage industry.

Key Responsibilities

Structured Cabling Installation

  • Assist with installation of CAT5e/CAT6 structured cabling systems.

  • Pull and route cable through conduit, walls, and ceiling pathways.

  • Assist with fishing cable through walls and above ceiling spaces.

  • Install cable supports such as J-hooks and basic pathway infrastructure.

  • Help maintain proper cable organization and labeling.

Field Support

  • Work under the direction of the Lead Technician and project team to complete daily installation tasks.

  • Follow project drawings and instructions for cable routing and installation.

  • Assist with material handling, job site preparation, and installation support.

Safety & Job Site Standards

  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, especially in active healthcare facilities.

  • Follow all site safety guidelines and OSHA requirements.

  • Work safely on ladders, lifts, and above-ceiling spaces when required.

Qualifications
  • ~1 year of experience in low voltage cabling, construction, or related technical work preferred.

  • Basic understanding of structured cabling systems (CAT5e/CAT6).

  • Ability to use basic hand tools and installation equipment.

  • Comfortable working in commercial construction environments.

  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn from experienced technicians.

  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel to job sites as needed.

Certifications
  • OSHA 10 required (company will provide and pay for certification if candidate does not currently have it).

Work Environment
  • Work performed primarily in a hospital / healthcare facility.

  • May require working above ceilings, inside walls, and in active construction areas.

  • Ability to lift materials and work on ladders or lifts as required.
