Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license and minimum 1+ years Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A school-based Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is needed to provide specialized 1:1 medical support for a student with a complex medical history. This position is based in Locust Grove, VA, within an elementary school setting, supporting multiple students' medical and safety needs. The role involves working primarily in the MD room as a dedicated 1:1 nurse, with additional duties assisting other students when the primary student is not present.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 nursing care for a student requiring close observation and intervention
  • Perform tube feedings and monitor for seizures, particularly those needing Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS) intervention
  • Assist with activities of daily living to support the students comfort and safety
  • Monitor multiple students for medical and safety needs as required
  • Collaborate with school personnel and healthcare providers to ensure individualized care plans are followed
  • Maintain accurate documentation of nursing interventions and observations

Qualifications:

  • Valid LPN/LVN licensure, compliant with state regulations
  • Experience working with pediatric patients, preferably in a school or educational setting
  • Ability to manage complex medical needs, including seizure response and tube feeding
  • Strong communication skills for coordination with school staff and healthcare team
  • Compassionate, patient-focused approach with attention to detail

Schedule:
