A rewarding opportunity is available for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide essential healthcare support within a school setting in Woodford, VA. This contract position focuses on delivering individualized care to students with complex medical needs, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the school day.
Responsibilities include serving as a 1:1 nurse in the medical room, primarily supporting a student with a complex medical history. The role involves continuous observation, intervention as necessary, administering tube feedings, managing seizures with Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS), and assisting with daily living activities. Since the student may not be present all day, the nurse will also support other students' medical and safety needs, fostering a safe learning environment for all.
Key qualifications and experience:
- Current and valid LPN/LVN license
- Experience in school nursing or pediatric healthcare settings preferred
- Ability to perform tube feedings and manage seizure interventions, including VNS support
- Strong observational skills and ability to respond calmly and effectively in medical emergencies
- Skilled in assisting with activities of daily living and maintaining accurate health records
- Commitment to student confidentiality and professional healthcare standards
Position details:

- Approximately 37.5 hours per week
